Colloquium 2024 Frequently Asked Questions

Colloqui-what?

The Mensa Foundation created this annual full-day event to provide a forum where participants can explore, debate, and evaluate a major issue of long-range importance to society.

The 2024 Colloquium provides an opportunity to learn from and engage with experts and other attendees about issues and ideas relevant to living an intelligent life in 2024 and beyond.

Is the Colloquium open to nonmembers?

Yes. The Colloquium is open to the general public — everyone is welcome!

What can I expect at the event?

Expect to be engaged in presentations and conversations about ideas and issues that are completely relevant to your life and to the lives of others you know. You’ll hear presentations from global experts who are passionate about their work, and you’ll have opportunities to engage with them throughout the day. The day will end with a panel discussion and Q&A session. The intention is to open up new conversations, so bring your questions and ideas! You will be welcome to participate in whatever ways you feel comfortable.

What’s the difference between registering for in-person vs. livestreaming

Both registration options include a full day of learning from and connecting with leading global experts in their fields, a live panel discussion and Q&A session, and access to a private online community just for Colloquium registrants. In-person registration also includes the opportunity for face-to-face networking with attendees who share your interests, as well as a plated lunch and refreshments throughout the day.

Who should attend?

Absolutely anyone curious about living an intelligent life in 2024 and beyond. Presenters will explore multi-dimensional concepts of intelligence (and giftedness) within important contexts of life, across the lifespan — education, work, relationships, mental health, and elderhood.

What is included with my registration fee?

All registration fees provide access to the full day of Colloquium events, including materials and access to recordings after the event. Registration includes a sit-down lunch and refreshments during the day.

Is there a cancellation/refund policy?

Yes. A 10 percent processing fee will be charged for cancellation and refund requests through May 31, 2024. Refund and cancellation requests received after May 31 will be reviewed case-by-case, based on circumstance and event viability. Registrations are non-transferable. For more information or to cancel, email Registration.

In the event the Colloquium is canceled, you will receive a full refund.

Can I change from in-person registration to livestreaming (and vice versa)?

Yes. Email Registration to transfer your existing registration type from one to another.

Do you offer student discounts?

No.
