The Mensa Education & Research Foundation and Mensa members are proud of their history of providing scholarships to selected essay winners.

2011 Scholarship Winners

More than 5,000 students competed for 170 awards with a total value of $77,800 in 2011. Winners ranged in age from 15 to 56 at the time of scholarship application. Volunteers with 90 Mensa Local Groups finished the scholarship program, and each of their local winners will receive a Karen Cooper or Diana Mossip Memorial Scholarship in the amount of $300. American Mensa's Heartland Region (in the central and northern Midwest) had the most Local Group participation.

Winners came from 43 states including Hawaii. The top six states in number of winners were California, Florida, Texas, Pennsylvania, Illinois and Ohio.
