MRJ Wins APEX Grand Award

Share article

The Mensa Foundation is thrilled to share that the Mensa Research Journal (MRJ) has earned the prestigious APEX 2025 Grand Award—the highest honor in the Awards for Publication Excellence, now in its 37th year. This marks the first time the MRJ has received the Grand Award, after previously winning several Awards of Excellence in past years.

This recognition is a testament to the vision, dedication, and craft of the entire MRJ team. We extend our heartfelt congratulations to:

  • Dr. Jeff Papa, Editor in Chief
  • Dr. Ryan Donlan, Chair of the Mensa Foundation Advisory Board
  • Hilary Moore, Art Director

Their collaborative work continues to elevate the journal’s mission: to explore and share groundbreaking research on intelligence in its many forms.

The APEX Awards are judged on excellence in editorial content, graphic design, and overall effectiveness in communication. Out of more than 1,000 entries submitted this year, only 100 Grand Awards were granted across 14 major categories. That places the MRJ in the top 10% of entries from communications professionals around the world.

This honor not only affirms the quality and integrity of the MRJ, but also reflects the Mensa Foundation’s broader mission to rethink and expand the conversation around human intelligence. We believe that intelligence is not only a personal trait but a societal resource, and the MRJ helps lead the way in making that understanding more accessible and inclusive.

Please join us in celebrating this remarkable milestone and the people who made it possible.
