This award is presented in recognition of a lifetime of contributions to the field of intelligence, giftedness and related subjects. Requirements include the following:
- An exceptional body of work in research, theory or other scholarly work by a living person over a period of not less than 15 years. Winners may be educators and/or practitioners in the fields of giftedness, brain function, human intelligence, creativity or intelligence testing.
- Significant contribution to the field through unique or innovative findings, theoretical constructs, educational approaches or practices and/or have made exceptional practical application(s) of others' research.
- Representation through a single highly significant book, a minimum of five publications as primary author in refereed academic journals, a minimum of eight publications as a secondary author in refereed academic journals, significant contributions as a presenter at professional conferences or any combination thereof.
Winners receive a $1,000 honorarium and a commemorative award.
