The Mensa Education & Research Foundation and Mensa members are proud of their history of providing scholarships to selected essay winners.
More than 5,000 students competed for 162 scholarship awards with a total value of $72,800. Winners ranged in age from 15 to 51 at the time of their application. Volunteers with 83 Mensa Local Groups finished the scholarship program, and each of their local winners will receive a Karen Cooper or Diana Mossip Memorial Scholarship in the amount of $300. American Mensa's Great Lakes and Ohio Valley Region had the most Local Group participation.
Winners came from 43 states including Hawaii. The top seven states in number of winners were California, Florida, Texas, Pennsylvania, Ohio, Colorado and Michigan.
