The Mensa Education & Research Foundation and Mensa members are proud of their history of providing scholarships to selected essay winners.
Approximately 100 scholarships were awarded from the 7,551 entries that were submitted to 71 local scholarship chairs across the United States. At the end of the contest, the Mensa Foundation awarded $34,200 in scholarships. This does not include all the scholarships awarded by Local Groups.
For each of Mensa's nine regions, there were one $500 Mensa Foundation Auction Fund Award and two $500 Grosswirth-Salny scholarships. Each Local Group that participated in the scholarship program had a $200 Karen Cooper or Diana Mossip scholarship awarded to one of its submissions to the regional judging.
