Leesa Scherrer was named to the Mensa Foundation board in 2015. Leesa works with high school students through Sylvan Learning of Western Wisconsin, where she teaches ACT prep, study skills, accelerated reading and college-level writing, plus K-12 reading and math. In addition, she has designed a college-prep study-skills curriculum and written a workbook for students who want to increase their scores on the ACT writing section.
A longtime Mensa volunteer, Leesa is past chair of the Gifted Youth Committee of Mensa of Wisconsin and a scholarship chair and gifted children coordinator. She founded and edited FRED (now called YM²), the magazine for Young Mensans.
Leesa holds a College Admissions Counseling Certificate from UCLA and an A.B.Ed (Elementary Education) with High Distinction from the University of Michigan.
