How do I make donations to the Foundation?

Is my deduction to the Foundation tax-deductible?

Yes. The Mensa Education & Research Foundation is a 501(c)(3) charitable organization, which means donations to the Foundation are tax-deductible to the extent allowed by law.

How do I designate my donation for a special purpose, and what designations are available?

Write your designation of choice on your check or payment, or send an accompanying letter outlining your wishes. Our usual designations are as follows:

Unrestricted: Donations without a specific designated fund go into the general fund to be applied to the area of greatest need. At this time, most unrestricted donations are applied to the various scholarships.

Restricted:
   Gifted Children: Support Mensa's gifted children programs.
   Project Inkslinger: Support the distribution of books to libraries and areas that have been devastated by natural disaster.

Scholarships: The Foundation administers numerous named scholarships that are awarded nationally and regionally.

How do I establish a restricted endowed Mensa Education & Research Foundation scholarship fund?

You can begin by filling out and sending this form.

How do I mention the Foundation in my will?

Email Foundation@mensafoundation.org or call 817/607-0060 ext. 123 for information about including Mensa in your will.

How do I make a donation as a memorial to, or in honor of, a specific person?

Include with your check the name of the person to be honored or memorialized, as well as information on who should be notified of the donation.

How do I establish a named scholarship or other fund?

In order to establish a named fund, the fund balance must be $20,000. Donors are given five years to build this amount. Email Foundation@mensafoundation.org for more information and an agreement form.
