Virginia teacher wins Distinguished Teacher Award
Judy Scruggs, a Virginia elementary school teacher, has been honored with the Mensa Foundation’s Distinguished Teacher Award. She taught for 33 years in various areas including Virginia Beach, Prince George County, Winchester and Charlottesville. The Distinguished Teacher Award recognizes a teacher, professor or instructor who has had an especially positive influence on the education or life of a Mensa member; Scruggs was nominated for the award by Dr. Stephanie Elzy, a former student.

New Conversation: "Taking Control of ADD"
The Mensa Foundation announces the latest edition to the Conversations with Mensa podcasts. "Taking Control of ADD" features Dr. Frank Lawlis, American Mensa's supervisory psychologist and author of "The ADD Answer," in conversation with Robin Crawford, experienced educator and mother of twin Mensans. Gross wins Mensa Foundation's Lifetime Achievement Award
The Mensa Foundation has presented Dr. Miraca Gross of Sydney, Australia, with the 2008 Lifetime Achievement Award for her research into human intelligence. She is the first non-American to win this award. Dr. Gross, a professor of gifted education at the University of New South Wales and director of the Gifted Education Research Resource and Information Centre, has written several publications based on her 25-year longitudinal study of 60 Australians with an IQ above 160.
